Again I would like to thank my Duramax and my Allison for getting us home and getting me 11.8 gallons/mile ,also thanks to Firestone and Sailun for performing as they did where the rubber meets the road and thank you Timkin for keeping those wheels a turning. Thank you TPMS for lying there in silence and thank you Pass Port America for saving us on lodging so we could afford the fuel to get home. A big NO THANKS goes out to Love’s, TA and Pilot for holding some of the highest fuel prices I ever saw $5.64/gal to as high as $5.94/gallon. Special thanks to my co-pilot for keeping me in the right direction or I may have ended up in Texas or maybe Montana. We enjoyed the snowless winter, but May really started to get hot. Jerry

Well said! We leave Florida in a few weeks to head to homecoming rally via the UP of Michigan.
Same truck and enjoy the 11-13mpg. Hate that fuel is so expensive, but somewhat still available.

Having work in oil n gas industry ~40 yrs, where the oil/gas starts, at those wellheads, gotta say America being ripped off.

We are currently paying $5.29 for what we were purchasing for $1.69 2 years ago. What happened? No comment. Haha :cfire

Wow. We just increased our fuel budget by 1k. Less t-shirts for the kids. Lol

Glad you are home!
$5.29 is a bargain in PA I saw diesel for $6.89 last week, around home it is $6.49 or higher.
PA hast the highest fuel tax in the country $0.741/gal and then fed tax of $0.243 per gal for a total of $0.984 per gal.

Went to top off the truck. I figured about 15 gallons. Prepaid $70. It didn't fill it up. But it's putins fault. No wait it's Trumps fault. No it's the oil companies fault. No it's our fault because Americans want to have a vacation. :-oDave

Are the fuel cards helping, or did those fall off the table? What card are you using?

Using the TSD card. With the card and my extra tank I filled up 3 times from Idaho to Palm Springs. The card saved me $53. So yes it does help. It was about 1330 miles.Dave

Yes the fuel cards do help.
I use the (EFS) TSD Open Roads Card for RVs.
I have talked to the support people regarding the fluctuation in pricing.
I was informed that the pump discount price is set by the supplier location and could change more than once in 24 hours.
TA has the best discount and Love's has the least at this time.
One thing that is good from the TSD card is that you can setup a saving account that the the payment is drawn from instead of a checking account like many cards require. I have a separate savings account that I can transfer funds to from my main Credit Union account for the fuel payment.
Today where I go in Maryland the price at the TA is $5.969 and the pump price is $6.119, better than $6.459 at home.
The TA quick stop near me in PA the price is $6.289 and a Lowe's in Harrisburg is $6.269 still better than the $6.459.
I have seen the discount price much lower than the pump price in the past as much as $0.65/gal or more.

The truck stops do usually have higher posted prices than gas stations that sell diesel, but still usually a little cheaper with the discount from the TSD card.
On last year's winter trip which was almost 9000 miles, I saved $220 off the pump price.
On this year's winter trip which was over 8000 miles, I saved $143 off the pump price.
Last year I witnessed somebody towing a travel trailer hit a metal pole next to a pump maneuvering at a regular gas station. You can avoid that expensive mistake using truck stops.
