The dot is reported saying I 40 east and west will be open in September 2025 at the border between the two states.
There are ways around it but it will add time to the trips.
 
Well, that's a bummer. Guess we're gonna have to deal with some extra driving time till they get it fixed. But hey, at least they're working on it, right? Btw I'm so envious of your F350, always wanted one. How's the Pullrite holding up? I've heard they're pretty decent.
 
I love the 6.7 diesel power plus the engine braking going downhill. The autoslider I'm comfortable with but still miss my B&W for ease of hooking or unhooking on undeveloped sites. But I don't have to worry about breaking out the rear glass on tight turns.
 
Yes, I-40 along with a large number or roads are partially destroyed or completely gone. We are heading west in a few days. My plan is to run 40 to Winston Salem, 52 to I-81 and then pick up I 40 in Knoxville. A few more miles but not that far out of the way.

Folks in western Carolina and Eastern TN have really lost all they own.
