Saying goodbye to Open Range Camper, not Open Range friends

Well, we have made the decision to trade in our 2013 297RLS after 10 years of faithful service. We were not able to sell it outright and decided that since we wanted some upgrades we might as well trade it in and buy a new one. Open Range no longer has a light fifth wheel similar to what we had, so we signed the papers today for a Grand Design Reflection 280RS that is about the same size as our Open Range and has lots of upgrades that we wanted.

We hope to keep in touch with the many wonderful friends we have made through Open Range and wish everyone here the best of luck in their camping.

Congrats, Jerrel! You are absolutely right… it’s about the people, not the brand. The brand may have brought us together, but it’s the people that keep us there. We traded ours earlier this year after ten years loyal service for an Alliance Paradigm for the same reason… Open Range didn’t have anything that fit our desires. It is weird seeing a different nose behind the truck through the rear view. Best of luck with the new one… see ya on the road!

Congrats. Made a move. It’s tough trying to sell an RV these days. Many of our close folks selling out. For me, age creep.
Enjoy the new rig.

Best of luck with the new rig!

We still have the Open Range cornhole set you gave the kids at the 15 TX Rally.

It is sad seeing all the people with old rigs like us moving on. I don't want to know how close I am to having the oldest rig on the forum now.......

I hope I'm not the oldest with a 2012....that means I'm really on borrowed time! But I guess I already Knew that....LOL

Good to know I still have at least 4 years on mine!

Need to get it rolling again, it's sat too long.

You have a great combo.
Once upon a time I had a 7.3 PSD Excursion and a 36' travel trailer. I still miss that set up.
In many ways it was better than my current rig.

The Excursion was an incredible vehicle. I was crushed when they discontinued it because I was working toward getting one. The used market blew up with ridiculous prices. There are a couple companies out there that convert the Super Duty into an Excursion. Pretty sweet when they’re done.
