The outside corner of my living room slide is severely rotted. Does the entire floor need to be replaced or can just the damaged area be cut out and repaired? The slide is 14' wide and 42" deep. See no reason to need to replace entire floor when only a small area is damaged but I am not familiar with the slide floor makeup. Thanks for feedback.

Unsure if a section can be cut out - unless you can line the entire underside with thick sheet metal or aluminum perhaps? I was lucky and had ours replaced under warranty - both the dinette and kitchen. Tradewinds RV in Florida replaced them as one piece with the slide remaining in the RV. They told me they just slipped the old one out and put the new one in.

If they weren't covered under warranty I was going to try using some sheet metal or heavy aluminum and epoxying it in over the rotted spots and wherever the rollers are so the height would stay the same.

Best of luck to you!

If it is just a small section I say you could cut it out but if it is more than say 1/4 of the 42 inches might be to much. Those floor sides support a lot of weight and it also keeps the slide square. If it is not just falling apart and you can get to it to dry it out, you might try this to repair it. http://www.rotdoctor.com/products/cpes.html You probably have water wicking in on the screws that hold the corner piece on also the cable attachment screws will wick water. I discovered my problem while still under warranty and HR replaced the floor in all 3 slides and repaired all of my slide walls.

I had the same problem on one of my small bunkhouse slides. I opened it up from the bottom and got it dried out. I saturated it with glycol to kill the rot. After drying it again I made a metal bottom to carry the weight across the roller. So far it is holding up. Good luck.
