Replacing Mach with Furrion

What's up all? I have a 2012 345RLS with the ducted supply and return a/c setup and two Coleman Mach units. The AC has stopped working, and now I am looking to replace the unit. Swapping for the same unit is the easiest and quickest path forward, but I can not leave well enough alone. The volume of the unit is much appreciated at night but not so much during waking hours. That has led me to look for an alternative like the Furrion AC units with variable speed. The Furrion rep informs me that the units will only work with a bottom mount (fastened from the bottom up), so their units will not work. Does anyone have any experience with this to know if they can be made to work? My other option is installing a mini split, and I would rather have one, but I don't have the time to complete it before an upcoming trip.

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

I installed a Furrion one on our 318rls this spring. I added one, not replaced one.
That being said, when I was researching the Furrion they have an adapter for several different competitors A/C control units. It basically a wire that you connect from the new Furrion to your existing control box. This cuts costs because you can use your existing A/C control module and thermostat.
It all comes down to if they have the conversion wire that will work with what you are replacing.
If they don't you will need the A/C unit, the controller, the ceiling mount and thermostat.
Their website will have all the info.

I appreciate the response. I spoke with my local Camping World representative several times about it, and supposedly the parts manager contacted the Furion representative, who said it would not work. So I just grabbed a replacement Coleman Mach three and fabricated a metal deflector and great stuff foam sealed every hole I could. We will see when I get to my destination on Sunday. After doing the work, I see that it's just three brackets that bolt to the unit and allow you to lag the unit to the roof. I could have gone for Furion, and I assume the parts manager likely made more from Coleman than Furion sales. He talked down about Furion a fair amount, so that is one thing that leads me to think that.

I recently replaced an Advent AC heat pump with a Furrion 18K chill cube. Both were ducted. Physical install was a direct replacement. The Furrion has a wireless controller but does not control the heat like the OEM one did.

I removed the low voltage control board from the Advent and 3D printed a box to house it. It is in the ceiling hidden and works with the OEM controls for heat only.

The Furrion works great and is extremely quiet. It may have worked fine in your Openrange. Currently the ducted option for Furrion is on back order, so your shop may have steered away because of that …
