Owner of a 323 RLS and I have hated the installed shower door from day one. In particular its tracks which never drain water fully and get all sorts of gunk into it. So I decided to remove it and install a dual shower curtain rod and threw on some curtains.
I had to do some modification of the shower rod since the shortest you can get it was 50 inches and I needed a max of 47 inches with the mounts installed.
Removing the shower was a pain in the butt doing it myself. Basically you have to remove all the caulking, silicon plugs, screws and get it all off at the same time. The shower doors are on rails and at the top in each corner screwed together. Thing weighs a ton as well. When all removed the amount of gunk was unreal and it was all wet.
Cleaned the surface up and installed the rod. I also took the time and changed out the facet handle for a single mixer kind. I like this a lot better for control of the water temps. I've replaced the screws that are on the side with stainless steel ones that I painted. Picture has original ones. All in all pretty happy!
