Does a 2022 Ram 1500 Need a Weight Distribution Hitch for a 29 ft TT?

I'm pulling a 29 ft TT with a dry weight of 4871lbs, 7686 gvwr , 686 hitch weight.
Tow vehicle 2022 ram 1500 2 wd. Opinions if Weight distro hitch is necessary.
 
Yes weight distribution hitch is necessary to maintain proper weight on front wheels.Vehicle is not stout enough to omit weight distribution
 
You'll defiantly want a WD hitch, and once you get one installed and setup, you will want to take your setup to a CAT scale and weigh it. Lots of videos on Youtube how to do it. If the manufacturer lists the tounge weight at 686# you'll probably be closer to 800# when all set up properly. My TT's listed tounge weight is 780# but my scaled weight is 920#.
 
You want sway control help.

A 29' trailer is at the max on a half ton. On the line. Check the sticker for capacities. There are trucks and grocery getters.

A 2500 diesel would never notice it is on there.
 
As others have commented, a 29' trailer with a 7,600 gvwr would likely need a WD hitch.

Having said that, you might also want to consider a sway control hitch. Have a look at a ProPride hitch. It doesn't control sway, it eliminates it.

A RAM 1500 is a nice light duty truck. I towed a trailer with it for a few hours and traded it in for a RAM 2500. Have you noticed the front-end pitching? Have you felt the sway on turns? The book numbers claim it can pull the weight, what those numbers fail to show is that the RAM 1500 does not have the suspension to handle the weight.

Any adaption to the 1500 is an attempt to compensate, not correct. I am not saying the RAM 1500 is a bad truck or a bad design; it is an excellent truck for what it was designed to do, which is to carry a reasonable load.

Do not risk a catastrophic accident. Buy the truck that will handle twice the load you expect to tow. You will get a reasonable trade-in on your 1500. When I bought my fifth-wheel trailer I traded my 2500 for a 3500 diesel. The 3500 is designed to tow: capacity, suspension, stance, transmission, and an automatic exhaust brake.
