Arctic Fox 295RK Chosen for Alaska Travel

We bought an Arctic Fox 295RK 5th wheel. We still have our Grand Design Solitude - it will soon be on a permanent site in Titusville, FL for my parents (age 84) to enjoy January-March. The Arctic Fox is about a foot shorter than our 2930RL Solitude. We purchased the Arctic Fox from Kelly RV in West Milton, PA - they are the only dealer within 500 miles. They were great to work with and took several days to go over everything before I did my inspection. Besides a couple of cabinets with loose hinges (needed tightening) all else was great. We needed a camper that would survive a trip to Alaska - not sure our Solitude’s frame would be up for such a trip. I saw JKJavelin recently purchased an Arctic Fox 29-5T and loves it.

What a coincidence that we both went to Arctic Fox at the same time. But after 9 years, 100,000 towing miles and over 1000 nights, it was time. My wife and I both really liked our Open Range, but I was dreading what the next major repair would be, and my wife was hard to convince that we should trade it in. The fresh water tank leak was still unresolved and Jayco was zero help for finding a replacement. That was the last straw for me. (We go off grid a lot). We got a great deal at Niemeyer Rv in Minneapolis and added more solar right away for 1600 watts total from nearby SotaSolar.
They sold our Open Range within 3 weeks.
I still visit here pretty much every day, so I'll be around.
