Air conditioning turns on when we turn on the furnace

The nights were very brisk on our recent trip to Arizona. For the first time in 8 years of ownership we experienced the same thing with our living room ac/heat: pick furnace and the ceiling ac would run. As the original op stated: heat on the floor and cool at the ceiling.
I shall go to the unit today and ascertain if a fan reset at the wall controller will cure the problem.

Check the blower settings. If on High/Low then it runs both the furnace and A/C blowers. To run furnace only set to AU for automatic.

Its wired wrong, ours is the same. The AC fan blows (just the fan) when the furnace is on so we just switch the AC off at the breaker, can't be bothered fixing the wiring.

oleman59 video link quite helpful. Thank you. Our 2012 305BHS AC works great. However, when trying to use the furnace for the first time, we got just a whiff of warm/hot air coming from the floor vents while the overhead fan was blowing. Per the video I will assume it was just the overhead fan and not the AC even though it felt like cold air coming out from above. Hence, gas heater working but little hot air flow while the overhead fan blowing hard. Per the video, when next at trailer, I will make sure the fan is on Auto and then try activating furnace again, which hopefully will not only turn overhead fan off but also increase hot air flow from floor vents. Fingers crossed. Will report back either way. Cheers

I know its been 5 years, but I just got my 2016 316RLS and its doing this exact same thing. Will check the fan setting, but I'm willing to bet its a wiring issue as well. The suggestion to just turn off the AC breaker is genius. Can't believe I didn't think of that and suffered through the night. Thanks

Just curious JP, I see you're in Minnesota. We just traded in our 2016 316RLS fifth wheel at Niemeyer RV in April. Wondering if you have our old rig, though the microwave and HVAC were never a problem. Maybe someone messed up the thermostat settings.

Hi JK! Yep! Just bought it in May. Its a pretty sweet setup! Maybe its the Auto vs On setting. Ill have to check that. Good to know those were never a problem. Looks like this one has been just about everywhere and seems well cared for!

Funny!
I'll pm you my phone number if you have questions. In fact, we'll be at Niemeyer on Thursday so they can replace the defective Furrion refrigerator. All of the appliances, furnace etc were flawless in that Open Range.
