Elkhart, IN (Elkhart Campground)
Registration will be available very soon.
I'll post the link and more info asap.

Last year was our first time attending this rally. We had such an amazing time and made so many new friends that we volunteered to help with this years rally. I highly recommend attending for anyone who's never been! Another great experience was the knowledge we gained and help we received on our rig from manufacturers like Lippert, BAL cable slides, JayCo and of course Highland Ridge RV.

2022 was my first year and I loved it so much I put my hand up when the committee that was stepping down was looking for volunteers. I look forward to 2023 and the exciting times ahead.
Steve.

Thank you to everyone who stepped up for the 2022 Coming Home Rally (CHR) and the volunteers for the 2023!

I was with Sue when she had the idea for the Open Range Forum Coming Home Rally when we were at an Eastern Shore VA Open Range Rally.
The first CHR was in 2013 and every year after except 2020 which was canceled due to COVID.
There have been most of the same volunteers over the years for the CHR, it is great to see new forum members stepping up.

Elaine and I have been to 24 CHR and regional rallies, hosting 2 regional and the 2020 (canceled) and 2021 CHR.
The rallies have been a great way to see the country and meet many new friends.
All rallies whether the CHR or a regional rally are hosted by VOLUNTEERS.
If you want to see Open Range RV Rallies continue please step up and volunteer to help at the CHR or a regional rally.

Ditto what Doc said. We’ve had some awesome times, met folks from all over and became lifelong friends. All in all it was worth every moment. Volunteer you won’t be sorry. If you’ve never attended a rally it’s a must.

Just registered, sending payment tomorrow, hope it gets there in time. I didn’t see anywhere to put comments or requests to be near someone or need a handicap site so I sent a note with my payment.

Are we able to reserve sites near or next to our friends? I would appreciate being able to accomplish that. Check has been sent in.

I just recently heard about the Coming Home Rallies, so we registered. I am talking with a friend about attending, I hope they can. Will a tour of the RV museum be on the schedule during the Rally? If not, will there be free time to do that? We would like to visit that museum while in the area and I will schedule another day in the area to do so if need be. I noticed a plea for help in a comment above. We have not been to a rally before but wondered if there is anything we might be able to help with.

In the past there was time to visit it. Once they have the rally schedule posted it will give you a better idea. jmtcw.Dave

When you find something in the area that you want to go see that's not a scheduled event, you won't have trouble making time for it. There will surely be free time scheduled and not all seminars may interest you and thus more time to be flexible with..
Last year was our first rally. We're extremely happy our first was the Coming Home Rally. Looking forward to meeting you and yours!

We been to two rallies in Shippy, along with traveling companions in their 391 fiver. And we volunteered, helped, which was fun. Met many wonderful folks. And enjoyed the travels to and from the rallies. And beyond too. Even tho we volunteered we did take opportunities to take short trips, visit the area.

My DW and our traveling companion are big time quilters. Our first attendance, suggested a quilt and craft show. Many other quilters and crafters join in. The attached pic is of the first show. Obviously, the Shippy area is quilter’s galore with the many quilt stores/shops around. The gals have their field days in and around town.

We did other rallies as well, over the past 11 years. Volunteered as Rally Hall Director at the Texas OR rally for 5 years. Also participated in the SE Rally. Met many wonderful folks, learned a bunch over the years traveling with the old 297 unit, and the 318 trailer.
