:help It’s been a good run and lots of fun, but it looks like 2022 may be the last Texas Rally. :-(

If you are willing to saddle up and take the Wagon Master position, we need a response by High Noon on Monday May 16, 2022. If you are willing to take the reins, we will hold on to the remaining funds, equipment and supplies, but you must come pick them up as soon as possible. We will not store them for weeks/months/years again.

This is the first time in four years we have seen our whole living room! It’s really nice.

Should no one take the Texas Rally over, we will disburse the remaining rally assets to local charities and not-for-profit organizations.

We are looking forward to your acceptance of taking over for the 2023 Texas Rally and wishing you “Happy Trails”.

Everyone involved with the Texas Rallies,
You have done a great job on the rallies over the years, we enjoyed the many we were able to attend.

I feel your pain, I had the same problem with the Northeast Rally.
I said I would host it for 2 years, 2014 and 2015.
I also said that a regional rally should travel around the region and the Texas Rally has done that.
By moving the rally around the region it gives more people the opportunity to attend.
After the 2015 rally there was not a forum member in the Northeast willing to step up and host a rally, there has not been a Northeast Rally after 2015.

I am afraid that the CHR may follow this trend.
Over the years there has been a small number of members that volunteer to run the CHR each year.
The 2022 CHR committee is new, thank you for stepping up, but you can not expect them to volunteer every year.

All in all Elaine and I have attended 21 Open Range Forum rallies across the country, having hosted 2 regional and 1 CHR, and we have enjoyed every one of them.
We have also met many new friends at the rallies from across the country.

Wife and I worked the Texas rally for 5 yrs, as rally hall directors. We decided to turn reins over to others. We wanted to get out, see the land, have some fun at a rally. Not work.

Of course we helped with some rally hall duties, like cleanups.

Planning rallies is tough. The smaller get together are easier to accomplish, and in some cases fun inspiring.

Is been a great ride for this Texas rally.

Sadly, no, Earl. It’s over. No one stepped up to be wagon master for this year. If I recall correctly, the Texas rally went on for 7 years with a Covid break year.

Some times few of us do have a small get together, say 4 to 6 units, at a campground everyone could be comfy of.

We are trying to sell our LF318. Been on market since Nov. No takers so far. Obviously, it’s in great shape, and loaded with extras, like tools, spares. We had the LF297 for 5 yrs, then got the 318, going on 6 yrs. Extensive travels, built up spares for those long hauls, and peace of mind.

The RV market out there is crowded and many units going for peanuts. We not gonna do peanuts. We own it, not a bank. If someone wants a good RV, at our price, gone.
